In my search for a more “catchy” title to this post, I googled “family is…” and this quote that came up made me laugh:
“Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city.” ― George Burns
Couldn’t be farther from the truth for us though – we really wish ours lived closer. But, to focus on the good things with the distance from CA to HI: we sure enjoy the visits, they get to stay longer than just a meal, and we are so very thankful to have them anytime we can.
This time there was a celebration with Cousin Anna’s wedding. Mostly my camera held the pictures previously posted of the kids, but there were luckily a few gems that had all the family in them. Here’s a few of my favs from the wedding day:

I think we all cleaned up pretty nicely! Wish I would have taken more, but you know – it’s always a balance between capturing the moment and enjoying it at the same time. So, we did more enjoying and less capturing…but still got a few nice ones. And I didn’t focus on taking ones of the bride – she’s a photographer herself and so I left those things to the professionals! 😉
Now…I think we should plan our next visit. I think we’re due for a Hawaii trip, so I’ll get on figuring that one out. Winter sounds like a nice time to escape, minus the holidays when everyone has that idea and airfares go up to about four times normal. It’s hard to complain though – I mean, we certainly could have family in worse places than Hawaii! (And I think they could say the same about Santa Barbara, I suppose) 🙂
