Just a Day in the Life

Yesterday was Selah’s first day of “Frozen Camp “. It’s really a local acting school that has a two-hour per day, three week long, camp for 4 to 6 year olds…with a production of “Frozen” at the end of it. I tried to grab a few pictures of her going in, but ended up with just one

She did so well – telling me she was fine and I could leave once we got there (???!!!). I mean seriously. Where did my little girl go. This growing up part is overrated for Mom, that’s for sure.
After I picked her up, the time was too sweet for me to leave (and I missed the window to drop her at school), so I missed the rest of work and had a “day date” with her before heading home to grab Asher, who was recovering from a very sleepless lake weekend. We decided to grab Pinkberry for a treat:

Then Daddy had a late day at the office, so the three of us headed to the park to get out of the house before dinner, complete with sidewalk chalk. Selah drew a great rendition of our family, while Asher rolled in the chalk and rubbed about as much on his face as on the concrete. Here are my little Picasso’s at work:

These are the moments I love. Those ones between the really hard stuff. The ones where time seems to fly rather than inch by. These are the moments where the days can seem so long, but the years are far too short. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t tired constantly, wishing for a nap. But so much more importantly, I also cannot remember a time in my life that I have ever been more grateful for. I want to bottle it up and save it for a time when I need some sweetness. So the closest I will get is memorializing it here in print and pictures to re-read on a rainy day – this bit of sunshine, a warm memory. So thankful for today.

Video Roundup

A few recent videos to round out documentation of our little fam:

Daddy & Crashy playing around the other night. This gets pretty funny when Crash can’t figure out how to get the toy out if his jammies:

Selah and I tubing at the lake…love this girl:

And more silly playing from my boys:

One more…a conversation yesterday with Selah at the park. This one makes me laugh. Turn up the volume so you can hear why ;). Also, notice Selah’s artwork (pretty impressive!), and the chalk all over Ashy’s face (& everywhere else – equally as impressive).

Love our family! I’m so blessed and don’t take a minute for granted (ok, I do lots of minutes…but trying not to!) 😉

Happy 4th of July

Happy Independence Day from the Wheeler fam. Here’s our day so far: first haircut for both kids (pics taken before…I’ll get ‘after’ shots tonight hopefully), and then packed up and headed to SLO then the lake house!

Check out our patriotic duds & the haircut shots:

And just a few of my irresistibly silly boy in his mustache diapers once we got to Gramma’s house:

Not extremely exciting – we even missed fireworks – but fun to be lake-bound! :). Happy Birthday, America!
