It’s Fiesta time in Santa Barbara again. I’m kind of a fiesta-pooper the past few (ok, more than few) years. It’s just so…busy! Crowded! Full of people! Tiring! Geesh, total pooper attitude, I know.
But…with kids, there’s a whole new set of activities to partake in. And they’re pretty fun, I must admit. It might not even be the actual activities – it’s more watching my kids enjoy themselves, see something new through their eyes, and connect with friends whose company I really enjoy.
Last night friends invited us up to the Mission lawn for a dinner picnic to watch the practice for fiesta pequena. The kiddos had a BLAST running around with friends – and Selah was also introduced to her first egg smashing tradition. Thought this series of photos was so sweet with her friend Emerson:
Such fun, and Emerson is so sweet. How blessed we are with a great Santa Barbara family. And God even painted a sweet sunset background for a few (albeit darker) pics of Asher running like a wild man all over:
Happy kids, happy Mama, and (I think) happy Hannah. Only thing missing from our sweet evening was a happy Daddy with us! (He was working). BUT – blessed to have work in this town too!
